It is already incredibly difficult to get a doctors appointment. Journeys that used to take 5 minutes now take 15/20 as least. There are constant queues and temporary traffic lights popping up all over the place. The town simply cannot cope with more houses/people/cars/traffic. Your plan is absolutely ridiculous.

We do not need housing in any shape or form. We already have open spaces and yet you want to build on them. Leave the open spaces alone, if commercial sites are needed then use any sites within the town centre but do not build any more flats.

If any of the sites in Rayleigh are to be developed - it should be for infrastructure (schools, health care etc) No more houses

I completely oppose CFS 148, 170, 025, 139 and 121 as you cannot continue to develop sporadically and on farm land where other developments sites are available or should be considered. As an example if you permit building on CFS148, CFS 170 and CFS 164 why not permit all land between those sites also as housing development

CFS 105 should be part of the potential park and not be developed. It will ruin an ancient landscape and hill top and will dominate the valley(s) either side.
As regards CFS 105 the proposed site will straddle the brow of the hill, turning the rural aspect of Hockley Road (as a ribbon through fields either side) into yet another housing cluster. The ratepayers who it will back onto are predominantly older and will lose the peace and rural aspect to the rear of their properties. Looking up the hill will become and feel like an urban environment. It will overshadow the current properties to the north of Hockley Road.
The land is on the ridge which is an ancient landscape topography with view over the Crouch Valley below. This will be lost to houses and possibly flats and other areas must be more suitable. The potential park could encompass the whole of the field and cross the road down past Hockley Woods to the south.
The substrate is sand which is not suitable to build upon.
Access off already busy Hambro Hill will be difficult and hazardous.
I object most strongly.

It’s green belt, our roads are already grid locked and this will cause even more cars on the road, schools are full, can’t get a gp appointment, bull lane has drainage problems, additional concreted areas will cause flooding, disturbing the habitats of wildlife.

Due to the inadequate infrastructure of Rayleigh, none of the sites should be used for housing but should be used to provide more health facilities so that not everyone has to travel into the town centre and for more open spaces. Rayleigh is suffocating under the constant house building and is in danger of becoming a huge urban sprawl that will no longer be distinct from its neighbours as the boundaries become built up and merge together (as with Rayleigh/Eastwood, Rayleigh/Thundersley). In particular, the conservation area should not be used for anything other than community use (not housing).

Figure 44 shows CFS148 as a promoted development site? Yet your current assessment for this site states several reasons which have sound objections to the site development. The actual development will encroach on to what is now considered a site of nature and wildlife worthy of protection. The land at present is farming land so we shall loose yet more crop and produce, where does this stop? when we have no flour for bread? if you look at Figure 44 most if n to all the proposed development land is brown field site, so yet less crops and more people?

This site takes all local surface water drainage and receives surface water drainage from Rayleigh Fairview Playing field with a connection that is sited between 55 & 57 Nelson Rd causing regular flooding on its southern boundary with CFS098. Any development would create even more of a flooding issue. Risk of flooding 1 and not 5 as inferred in the assessment. There are even more mis quotes in the assessment which should be urgently reanalysed and updated accordingly.

No more housing - even affordable is out of reach for lots of young, 1st-time buyers.
We have enough retail outlets, a number of them are now charity shops as mainstream shops have closed.
We need more green spaces, schools, doctor surgeries & NHS dentists. Allotments are few & far apart & expensive.
Rayleigh is complete, as far as housing goes. We need our only large, popular, leisure venue to remain as it is (upgraded), to ensure the residents of Rayleigh have a decent entertainment centre to cater for all.

A number of the housing developments are on green belt land or adjacent to it
There isn't sufficient infrastructure in Rayleigh for the addition of the houses you are suggesting
In Bull Lane you have a singe track road & you're suggetsing to put 120+ houses on the land. Very unrealistic

CFS 146 or CFS146 could perhaps be used as a site for a purpose-built recycling centre. The one in Castle Road is insufficient for the needs of this rapidly expanding community and is currently sited in an inconvenient place, especially when busy and cars are queueing along the residential streets.

Generally there is a requirement for all items in no 3.
There is already too much of item 1 being currently under development, with no addition provision for additional services mentioned in 3,( health centre, school and large green areas were mentioned in planning but not forthcoming ) and better infrastructure- roads /road management, drainage/flood provisions (current flood provision at Sweyne not effective) communications etc. Currently Rayleigh becomes gridlocked. Only getting worse. This damages Rayleigh’s image as a friendly, family market town. Sprawling urban area does not promote integrated community spirit

The following sites should NOT be promoted for housing - CFS027 and CFS053. These areas are on fields that regularly flood and protect the surrounding houses from rainwater deluge. Building on these areas would greatly impact the road infrastructure - higher traffic on roads that are not made large volumes of traffic - i.e farm roads. These fields provide a green space for local wildlife and regularly we spot deer within these fields - building on these fields would restrict their habitat which has already been reduced in Hockley Woods area.

This area should be left as open spaces and I would never agree to it being used for housing. We are being inundated with housing projects all around us and the infrastructure is caving in under the weight of new housing developments. Please leave it as open spaces for the residents to enjoy.

Rayleigh is a beautiful town and I do not agree that anymore housing should be built near the town centre as it is just so congested. If houses are to be built sites nearest to the A130 should be considered first. This is a large amount of land where roads and infrastructure could be introduced and not impact on the already congested town centre. Small areas of green belt near housing around town are areas which residents enjoy for walks a recreation. To take these away would destroy the whole feel of our beautiful historic town.

Site CFS044 represents a natural rounding off to the existing development form. It is noted that the appraisal found that the site only scored 1/2 over 6 issues. From examination the appraisal is wrong as follows:
1 - the site makes little contribution to the greenbelt;
- it is not in full agricultural use
2 - the site has excellent accessibility to bus services;
- there would be no impact upon protected trees
- there is no drainage impact (see FRA submitted)
- in terms of strategy the site is well placed to accomodate elderly persons/general housing.

Enhance the current town, number of empty shops has been increasing since the start of the Pandemic as well as before.
The variety of shops has decreased causing locals to shop else where.
Overall point is we need to improve what we have not leave as is and add more houses, office etc when those that are already available are exactly that.
