New Local Plan: Spatial Options Document 2021

Representation ID: 37676

Received: 05/08/2021

Respondent: Mrs Shirley Page

Representation Summary:

Due to the inadequate infrastructure of Rayleigh, none of the sites should be used for housing but should be used to provide more health facilities so that not everyone has to travel into the town centre and for more open spaces. Rayleigh is suffocating under the constant house building and is in danger of becoming a huge urban sprawl that will no longer be distinct from its neighbours as the boundaries become built up and merge together (as with Rayleigh/Eastwood, Rayleigh/Thundersley). In particular, the conservation area should not be used for anything other than community use (not housing).
