I believe infrastructure assessment first before land is presented to residents for planning. The new houses CFS064 will have a feeder road into Westminster Drive and then Buckingham Road. This is the only road off "Betts Farm Estate". Then onto the busiest "B" road (B1013) in the UK. This field produces crops and is on the green belt. There is also a public right of way around the field. This is a green corridor for deer, foxes and badgers and this development will displace this wild life. There is a well in this field! Also increasing air pollution. There is a brook which runs from CFS064 a long the side of the community centre under the road into Westminster Drive under the railway track to a culvert into the farmers field. In 2013, 6 houses at Westminster drive were flooded. I was one of those houses, £70,000 to repair! Sustainable drainage system will need to be included as part of the development to reduce the risk of flooding. How will Hockley Primary School be able to teach all the new children? The extra traffic will also increase air pollution. These houses that are being planned for are too expensive for first time buyers in the area and will be sold to people moving out of London or for Afghan refugees. The infrastructure will not cope. Roads, doctors, hospitals, schools, hospitals, drainage etc. We have ancient woodland and nature reserves. Please do not damage and destroy This site is not suitable.

More traffic, more pollution, more people using the already over stretched services. This is a field that produces crops and is on the green belt. We have ancient woodland and nature reserves at risk. There is a brook which runs from CFS064 a long the side of the community centre under the road into Westminster Drive under the railway track to a culvert into the farmers field. So, sustainable drainage system will need to be included as part of the development to reduce the risk of flooding. The houses that are being planned will not be affordable for local first time buyers. Most of the houses will be sold to people moving out of London or for Afghan migrants. The infrastructure will not cope. Roads, doctors, hospitals, schools - primary and secondary, nurseries, drainage etc. This site is not suitable!

Finally, building any more houses in Hockley and its surrounding areas would be a strain on our roads, traffic builds up now let alone if we have more houses as more houses mean more cars. Not to mention our doctors, dentists etc.

The roads on Betts farm estate are very congested with parked vehicles in Buckingham Road, a major hazard. More traffic would result in road safety being seriously compromised and putting further strain on B1013 which has so many potholes. That will only increase. Plus the general impact on schools, dentists, and doctors surgeries.

I object to this field site (CFS064) being used for housing because the infrastructure of Hockley village would be put under severe pressure.
The traffic on the B1013 is already congested and more cars would severely impact this problem.
Increased traffic through the Betts Farm estate would increase pollution and damage health for all generations. The community centre is an important local facility and this could be adversely affected by additional access roads.
The field and adjacent hedgerows support local wildlife and native species.
The footpath around the field is regularly used by walkers. The ancient woodland near the field would be adversely affected by additional housing.
I feel very strongly that the village of Hockley should remain a village and cannot support extra housing and traffic.

There are 3 ancient woods around the field, all of which would be severely impacted by building work with much pollution in the process - the field forms a wildlife corridor for badgers and other native species - the roads on the Betts farm estate would also be severely impacted by extra traffic from a potential housing development on the field site - the main road itself (B1013) would be severely impacted by extra traffic from additional housing.

I object to this site (CFS064) being used for housing mainly for the following reasons - the impact on traffic congestion on B1013. Hockley is over developed enough.

There is no direct road access. The Betts Farm estate comes to a standstill twice a day with school traffic. The level of traffic congestion is beyond belief on the B1013. An extremely unsuitable building area.

The field has a locally important footpath running around its perimeter, well used for recreation by walkers and dogs

Betts Farm Estate could be put under strain by a significant increase in traffic causing pollution and damaging our health.

The traffic increase caused by more houses will severely impact traffic congestion on the B1013 and surrounding roads.

The surrounding ancient woodland would be adversely affected by a housing development.
The field supports wildlife and hedgerows important to native species.
The infrastructure would be put under severe strain from more houses in this small village.
I feel it is important to keep Hockley as a village and not infill all the green spaces so important to the local residents health and wellbeing.
There are regularly long traffic queues through the village, which definitely cannot cope with additional cars which would be a consequence of another housing development.

Congestion already impacted at Buckingham Road with parked vehicles leading into B1013. Insufficient infrastructure already causing problems with roads / traffic. All drains blocked on Buckingham Road where rain cannot drain. Also, impact on schools etc,.

I object to this field site being used for housing as the infrastructure, in my opinion, is not in place to accommodate any amount of housing. There is very limited access to this site and it would impinge on our quality of life if this green belt land were to be built on.

The roads leading onto Betts Farm Estate i.e. Buckingham Road and Manor Road would be grid locked. We already have an issue with excessive traffic because of Hockley Primary School and I'm sure that access through Folly Chase must be a no no.

The extra congestion on the B1013 would be even more horrendous than it is already.

I strongly object to the proposed building of 39 houses on land north of Merryfield Ave Hockley.

This area is Green Belt, has a Tree Preservation Order and plenty of flora and fauna, besides being adjacent to our nature reserve which is a lovely place to visit.

Access to this site in Marylands Ave is very limited, this is a quiet residential area, has very narrow roads and would be very dangerous to have extra cars, lorries etc going up and down.

We moved to Marylands Ave Estate because of its quiet locality, please do not ruin it.

Re: Land being offered for potential development

I am writing, again, to let you know my thoughts about possible sites being put forward to develop new house builds. Particularly:
CFS160 / CFS161 (124 houses), Hockley near water tower.
CFS074, Hawkwell, opposite Rawl Pindi Nursery (498 houses).
Adjacent site CFS194, CFS169, CFS150, CFS020 from Clements Hall to Victor Gardens, St Mary's Church to the railway line (801 houses).
CFS261 Land behind King Edmund School off Brays Lane potential (4,447 houses).
CFS094 Land West of Ash Green, Canewdon (17 houses).

Well, I am totally opposed to any of these being built on. Reasons -

CFS169 / CFS161 The road that would have to accommodate the traffic would accumulate from the 124 houses is High Road, which is already too busy now. Especially mornings and early evenings when people are coming home. It is stop start for most of the way from Bullwood Hall to the Spa.

CFS074 - The road that would be affected is B1013 (Main Road). This road carries heavy traffic. I know because I regularly try to get out from Gusted Hall Lane onto it and it takes me ages. This road then goes to Rayleigh through Hockley on the road I mentioned above or it goes to Southend via Hall Road /Cherry Orchard Way or onto the Ashingdon Road. And well - we all know what Ashingdon Road is like, so an extra 500 houses would be detrimental to say the least.

CFS194 / 196 / 150 020 - so these 800 houses would come out in Rectory Road, and B1013 as above.

CFS261 - The land behind King Edmund School. Another 4,447 houses would produce megga traffic out into the Ashingdon Road, which can no way accommodate such traffic. As you know we are all against the possible Bloor build for 600 houses for the problem with traffic, so 4,400 houses would be ridiculous.

And lastly, CFS094 Land West of Ash Green, Canewdon 17 new homes. Only last year the two developments were finished where 3 Acres and Birch Lodge were knocked down. The ones that back onto our back garden are way too close to us. We were lied to by the Council who said they had sent out 'A change to the plan' - adding onto the rear of the houses another 5 or 6 feet. Me nor my neighbours ever received anything asking if we would agree or disagree to it. Because we obviously would have been against it. So obviously it's easier to just say the letters were sent out and to not do it - then no one could disagree.

Anyway the piece of land next to them which would be in between the 'New Builds' and 'the Rectory' was, I was led to believe to be left for wildlife, but there we go.

I would have thought we would need another shop at least if we have more houses built.

We are always led to believe that there would be the appropriate infrastructure to go with any houses to be built, but it never happens. We have had many developments around Rochford area over the years. There has been the one off of Dalys Road where the hospital was. Now that was definitely a mistake to knock a hospital down.

There were some houses built off of Golden Cross Road. Then there was the "Christmas" tree farm. Plus they added more after that onto it.

Then there was the Hall Road development of 600. Initially they were going to build a school because of the number of houses, but then splitting the development to 2 developers allowed a loophole and there weren't enough houses to warrant a new school.

It's just disgusting the way they play with the loopholes. It might mean each developer has 300 houses now - but it still adds up to 600. It's just plain old common sense has gone. It's just about money money money.

It's obvious that when a lot of houses are built you have to have the infrastructure in place before hand. Boris Johnson had this in "black and white" in the 2019 Manifesto. That with any building developments you would have to make sure that the infrastructure would have to come first BEFORE anyone moved into the houses. (WHERE is the infrastructure) (there isn't any).

The roads all around Rochford can't cope with more traffic.

The holes in the roads at the moment are just appalling. Greensward Lane is just ridiculous. People just weave around them, that in itself is what we get. NO more CARS. It's impossible to make the roads any better. They are roads made way back when traffic was much lighter.

NO MORE HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS
