I object to the site CFS064 being developed for housing because it is in the green belt, and is regularly farmed, the footpath which runs around the perimeter is used frequently by local residents, and walking groups. The local school already has no room for new residents children and this has been the case for several years. There is often traffic jams on the B1013 at different times of the day and the roads that lead to the Betts Farm estate, Buckingham Road and Manor Road are already busy residential roads.
There are three woods around the site and this development would affect the nature and wildlife.

I would like to object to any possible housing developments at belchamps- hawkwell CFS045 On the grounds that there is already road congestion in the surrounding area without any new housing developments of a significant size. In addition there is lots of wildlife that use this land including foxes and muntjac deer which we see on a regular basis. The additional traffic would also decrease the air quality in the area. Most schools in hockley are fully subscribed so there is also not the spaces for additional children to attend.
I hope all of the above points are considered when looking at options for housing. It would be such a shame to also lose the services and activities that belchamps provides to the local community and further afield for the scouting and guide groups.

I object to this field site (CFS064) being used for housing for the following core reasons:
it is green belt and farmed regularly.
There would be severe impact on the level of traffic congestion on the B1013.
The roads on the Betts Farm Estate would be put under strain by a significant increase in traffic causing pollution and damage to health.
The field has a locally important footpath surrounding it's perimeter, well used by walkers for recreation - especially during lockdown in the pandemic.
The field is surrounded by three ancient woods which would be badly affected by a housing development.
The field is an important wildlife habitat and supports many native species.

I object to this field site (CFS064) being used for housing for the following reasons:-
Its Green Belt and farmed on a regular basis.
Traffic in this area is already near to gridlock on the B1013 and could well be worsened by the increase in motor vehicle.
Potential pollution from increased traffic especially in the Betts farm and Hockley Primary School areas.
The footpath running around the field perimeter is very well used and would be adversely affected by the addition of the proposed housing.
The ancient woods surrounding the field could be badly affected by the added housing and the natural wildlife habitat could be destroyed.

This land is green belt land and an important wildlife habitat.
There is already severe congestion on the B1013 and this would impact it even more as well as putting the roads on the Betts Farm estate under serious strain adding to pollution and health problems.
The field is surrounded by 3 ancient woods which would be badly affected by a housing development.

I have lived in Hockley since 1978 and during my 43 years here, little noticeable infrastructure has been undertaken. Schools are over subscribed, GP surgeries can't cope with the number of patients on their books and the roads are almost at a standstill. Despite all this you still want to build more houses which makes me think no one in the planning department actually lives in the area.

I totally reject the field site (CFS064) being used for housing as the impact on the B1013 would be horrendous for traffic.
... > The Betts Farm estate would be put under further strain with increased traffic causing even more pollution and damage to peoples health.

The field in question has a locally important footpath running around its perimeter which is continually being used by walkers. It is also surrounded bu 3 small ancient woods which would be badly affected by a housing development, not to mention the severe impact on the wildlife habitat.

If the Planning Committee are intent on developing this land, then it is essential that the infrastructure is in place prior to any development taking place.

This is green belt and used for farming regularly.
This is also a regular walking footpath (214 houses).

The wildlife will be affected by this work on houses which is not thought about.

The ancient woods should not be touched.

The biggest worry will be the traffic increase. Its bad enough as it is at the moment.

The road will be a big problem with traffic entering the B1013. We as people already living here are fed up with all traffic no matter what time, morning - day - evening. This will be a total disaster.

Re Contemplated Development of Agricultural Land North of Rectory road Hawkwell CFS194,169,150,020

Whilst accepting that our Local Authorities are duty bound to provide additional housing in our area the proposition that any development which leads to additional vehicular traffic on Rectory road, Hawkwell should be seriously considered would I suggest with out wishing to cause offence, be foolhardy.

Having been involved in a traffic survey on Rectory Road a year or so ago, i am very aware of the present volume of traffic using Rectory Road and I assure you it would be impossible to accommodate any significant increase in traffic on this road without creating either a new large Over or Under Pass to allow traffic flow over or under the railway line, presently achieved via the one way underpass.
I imagine an over/under pass would cost any millions of pounds to construct and would of cause, cause huge environmental pollution.
In the light of the above, not to mention the infringement on the Green Belt or the current acute lack of facilities (medical in particular) in this area. I wish to register my personal objection to ANY further development adjacent to Rectory Road, Hawkwell.

5. The field is surrounded by three small ancient woods which would be badly affected by a housing development.
6. The field is an important wildlife habitat and supports many native species.
7. Given the recent history of development in the area, the developers will not add any additional infrastructure to cope with the increased demands, and will prioritise luxury housing rather than affordable housing for first time buyers (despite any 'promises' they make, which are of course worded in a way so as not to be legally binding).

CFS074

Much of the above also applies to CFS074 with the addition that the area is bordered by badger setts which is a criminal offence to destroy. There will be a loss of a valuable ancient footpath and ancient hedgerows. The impact on wildlife will be extreme. The area is arable and regularly farmed and alive with insects and butterflies in summer. Finally the B1013 is already a severely congested road. The resulting additional congestion and air pollution will be very detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the local community.

Representation Summary:

I very much object to the proposed development of the site CFS074.

This is arable land, regularly farmed and in summer has numerous wild flowers providing nectar for endangered butterflies, bees and other insect populations and thus is an important wildlife habitat. In addition to this the field is bordered by woodland which is home to large well-established badger colonies. Badgers roam far and wide to forage for food and pay no heed to fences and other barriers and will dig up lawns and garden beds in their search for food. I am concerned that when the owners of the new properties find that this happens to their gardens then they will seek the means to destroy these setts.

The field has an ancient path running along the top of the area. This was the ancient drovers road used to take cattle to Rochford market and is historically significant.

There will be a significant increase to the traffic congestion on the B1013. Consider the health of the children who will need to walk along that road to access their primary and secondary schools locally. Cases of COPD and severe asthma are increasing alarmingly year on year and more housing and consequent traffic will exacerbate this problem. The field is bounded on two sides by mature ancient hedgerows which support many wildlife species. Finally (and this is probably not a consideration that will sway the council), in these dark days, to be able to walk the footpath across the ridge and take in the sweeping vista to Ashingdon, Canewdon and the Estuary lifts the spirit and gladdens the hear and we can all use some of that!

This is green belt land and regularly farmed. It provides a significant wildlife habitat for bees, butterflies, insects, birds, small mammals and badgers.

The hedgerows bordering the site likewise provide important wildlife habitats.

The field has locally important footpaths running around its perimeter frequently used by the local community.

I am very much concerned with the increased level of congestion on the B1013 already renowned to be one of the busiest B roads in England! Nearly any time of the day a journey along there will be very slow. When traffic is impeded by delivery vehicles or the refuse lorries then the traffic grinds to a halt.

People's respiratory health is very seriously compromised by the pollution of particulates in the air which will certainly increase with the increase of traffic. Children will have to use this road to walk to local primary and secondary schools. Childhood asthma is already a serious problem and will be exacerbated by this increase in traffic.

Finally, there is no increase in the infrastructure - doctor's surgeries, dentists, schools, district nurses to support this increased housing.

First and foremost this land is Metropolitan Green Belt. Secondly certain trees have global protection orders on them. Thirdly the nature I fear would disappear, because at the moment it is human-free. But that would most certainly happen if this area was to go ahead.

You must be talking about seventy plus adults, without adding on children. The impact on all social amenities is at breaking point now. For example try getting a doctors appointment? The schools and colleges, I would say, would find it extremely difficult to cope.

If your child or children cannot be schooled locally where do they go. Every district is having the same situation. These days it must be a headache for parents, especially as most have to go to survive

-It is green belt and farmed regularly
-There would be a severe impact on the level of traffic congestion on the B1013
-The roads on the Betts Farm estate could be be put under strain by a significant increase in traffic causing pollution and damaging our health
-The field has a locally important footpath running around its perimeter, well used for recreation by walkers
-The field is surrounded by three small ancient woods which would be badly affected by a housing development
-The field is an important wildlife habitat and supports many native species.

I object to this field site (CFS064) being used for housing. The field has a footpath running around it which is used regularly by local residents, as are the woods on either side of it. The area is a hub for all kinds of nature and wildlife and is an asset to the community. It would make access to the B1013 more difficult as that road is always very busy and any obstruction on that main road between Hockley and Rayleigh causes delays that would be worse with additional vehicles. It is important to have these open spaces for the health and wellbeing of residents.

The field is an important wildlife habitat and has small ancient woods surrounding the field. But Rochford Council's record in Hockley Woods is just cut down and leave to rot - then get the men who are cutting trees down to say they are encouraging the fritillary butterflies! Us dog walkers are not as believing as RDC think.

The site is Green Belt. The TRAFFIC from 214 houses would be horrendous. Can Hockley Primary School cope with a couple of hundred children extra? The field is an important wildlife habitat and has small ancient woods surrounding the field.
