All green space needs protecting, our air pollution in Rayleigh is dreadful so we need as many trees and green spaces as possible. Wildlife need green spaces between gardens to flourish, the Council should be planting more trees and creating more green areas that attract wildlife. We are a historic town, mentioned in Little Domesday, the town needs nurturing not turned into a suburb of London.

The land behind Nelson road in Rayleigh and at the end of Wellington road and the horses fields at the top of Albert Road need to be protected. They have provided sanctuary to many during the Pandemic providing relaxing walks for local residents and improving well being that many people continue to need and want to do on a regular basis. The fields behind Nelson Road are also an area of special character and the area has a wildlife habitat for several species including slow worms.

All the green spaces shown on figure 44 are significant as they are the ONLY green spaces that will be left if the council and government get their way and build on everything else.

All the identified spaces are significant, as also is the Lubbards Farm area which has for many years been a significant equine facility, at one time even having its own cross-country course - something that could be encouraged again in the future. Some diversity that the council should be promoting, maybe.

Has anyone looked at this proposal? How will people get to the prosed green space? I know this area and just can't see why you ear mark this land? Further you propose a district leisure centre adjacent. No road improvements? what about the small fact that on the otherwise of Rawreth Lane there is already a leisure centre? again do you look at these proposals?

All green spaces are vital to the well-being of the population. New England Wood (R10 Grid ref TQ832902) should remain untouched by development (HC1 Ancient Woodland Sites. • SC18 Invertebrates Listed as Species of Principal Importance in England. Place Services 1993. Updated 2017).
These woods, along with Grove Woods, contain deer and other wildlife. It is a popular walk for residents from Grove Woods, through New England Woods on the way to Cherry Orchard Park. To cover this in concrete and buildings is totally unacceptable.

I am totally against any type of building down Wellington Road on Promoted Site CFS053 for this will cause Noise, pollution, reduce carbon neutral objective, local services are under more pressure, more litter and mess, reducing green belts, outside spaces under pressure, affect on people's mental health for lack of fresh air and outside spaces.Inappropriate areas to build on, affect on asthma from more pollution, in general please do no go ahead with building on CFS053 its a NO from me.
Yes CFS053 Wellington Road plot is a major place for walkers and horse riders, and people walking their dogs, as already mentioned having open air spaces is good for mental health surely you cannot just keep building, why dont we just knock all houses down in Rayleigh, build one big house and we all live in that as that's how it feels when you are constantly building over green belt. I find this so disappointing, i always wonder why certain areas are chosen, maybe we should se if any Councillors live near these promoted sites, i bet £100 most of them dont, so its not an issue for them. How would you feel if someone was building over where you live, its wrong, and its going to cause many issues.

significant but too few. Not enough large green spaces. do not consider 30x30m a green open space. Currently most proposed sties are Green areas, whether farming or natural. If these areas are built on, then the whole dynamic, feel and hart of Rayleigh will change. It will become characterless and be swallowed up by the housing progression that runs unbroken from London to the coast. Becoming another Basildon or Romford. The rural homely feel of Rayleigh it’s importance in history for the area and what it stands for will be lost

CFS086 is an area of significance to local wildlife along with CFS027 and CFS053, all of these areas provide refuge for local wildlife from the ever expanding town. The impact of recent building of flats and therefore increased traffic by Bullwood Hall has reduced the habitat boundary on side, pushing the wildlife towards these areas. To then build on the promoted sites only leaving CFS086 would be to completely disregard the natural habitat of our semi-rural community.

Considering the size of the town and the number of residents the number of public green space available is not balanced. Especially when it comes to easy walking access. We should protect the green space ensuring we have a variety not just open parks

Our local green spaces are vital for the well-being of all residents of Rayleigh as it is already a highly populated and busy town.
The need for green spaces has been clearly demonstrated over the past eighteen months or so of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. Our green spaces are good for both our physical and mental health.

Hanging on to any green spaces must be paramount, not development. When I look at your map ( fig 44 ) all I see is blue housing development proposals but very few green areas. How long will it be before you want a housing development where Hockley Woods are
I think enough is enough ( housing developments )

ALL green spaces hold local significance! Rayleigh Mount is a National Trust area & wildlife will be disturbed with pile-driving if building is carried out in this area. Wildlife has fewer & fewer places available for their habitat with all the current building as it is; further development is very irresponsible. Trees are vital for our health & the environment, as are open, green spaces.

Agreed, however the areas connecting these green spaces and ear marked in this strategy are the green routes to the these spaces and they also provide the much valued and needed green surroundings to the existing housing and its people who live in Rayleigh, shrinking its green borders of this town is not deemed constructive. Particular sites being of value are CFS -105, 053, 027,-98,086,164,163. Similarly the significant infrastructure deemed for development COL107 ,COL20 are a travesty of poor understanding Rayleigh's needs.

I do agree that open green spaces hold a purpose, after the last 18 months, there has been a rise in mental health issues, and having an area where you feel that you are able to go and see the wildlife or open space can be very important to us all.

Such local green spaces do hold significance as they are home to several wildlife species and they also provide recreation space for walking, cycling, horse riding and other leisure activities in what is already a densely populated and built up area.

Yes they do... Places to walk our dogs, obtain daily exercise, help to maintain the reasons why many of us moved to the area - open farmland, good views, not over populated. Why should we stand by and let you turn our town into something that we do not want it to be.
We're facing reduced availability of facilities and services if you continue to over populate us.
