Representation Summary:

This area is totally wrong for major development of 50 dwellings. All roads that surrond these sites are totally unsuitable to support the development, Folly Lane, Fountain Lane and Church Road, are narrow and are currently not able to suport further traffic. These roads are already beening used to excess to avoid the congestion on the B1013 from Rayleigh to Hockley, which we know from ECC is currently running at full capacity, even on a Saturday. Alternative support roads to the development would be Manor Road, Osborne Ave & Chevening Gardens, by the school. A Big safety issue, with children.

I have to state that the building of 50 homes would, presumably, lead to a further 100, or so, cars. Folly Lane/Folly Chase/Fountain Lane are, especially at peak times, already over-stretched to cope with the current volume of traffic. Without a major Hockley/Hawkwell by-pass [ as has been muted by The Council in the past ], this suggestion would only add further unacceptable congestion. The infastructure, as exists, would be insufficient to accommodate the additional strain.

This land is close to Hockley Primary School and is a much loved and well used resource for the children to safely enjoy. They constantly use it for local rural studies and they love the tractors. When the school moved to this site it was well documented that this green belt area would be preserved for the children as they nolonger had direct access to Hockley Woods. Hockley School proudly advertises itself as being in a "beautiful rural setting", and that is why parents choose it. Taking this away would be tragic for the whole community but especially children.

school is not large enough to accomodate any more children, houses overlooking primary school children playing field would be too close, surrounding roads to the school unable to cope with traffic at the moment and could not accept any more vehicles without tragic accidents. I have had no notification whatsoever regarding these proposals, building on green belt is no way good for the environment and would totaly spoil the countryside which is used all the time by local residents for walking and enjoying the natural beauty of bluebell woods and excellent views. Unique piece of green belt land surrounded by the jubillee walk which is very accessible to all in the community - it provides an accessible and beautiful LINK between the community centre, primary school, church and thousands of residents - used by many daily. Particularly used and of huge benefit to all the children of Hockley Primary School - immediately they leave their school grounds they are in open countryside and woodland. Used by them to attend the ancient bluebell wood and the Meadowfield Nature centre regularly.

Development on this land would destroy a huge variety of wildlife that depend on this area.
NB - I have spoken to many parents at the school today about this ,none of whom were aware of this proposal which is of great concern

I wish to object to this proposal for two reasons:-
1. The proximity to the Hockley Primary School. Currently the school enjoys a secluded location which is not overlooked. The children are educated in a quiet rural setting, which would be destroyed firstly by the construction traffic and work, and then the location of the development which would encroach on their space. In addition, the children enjoy safe walks across the footpaths through the various woods to Meddowfields Nature Centre in Church Road. The proposed development would hamper, if not totally thwart this activity.
2. Why bound Folly Wood on four sides?

I would just like to inform you that I have only today found out what is being proposed, if this developmenet is allowed to go ahead the children of hockley primary school will lose their playing field, they have sports day and school fetes on this field, the school is in the middle of a housing estate and this is the only large bit of green for the children, they love to run and play on this field, with the government campaign about childhood obesity and not getting enough exercise it would be disgusting if this proposal went ahead.

Overall, i object to this due to more taffic around the school which will affect child safety and the fact that i live on this estate and would be a shame to remove the little green areas that we do have. Also i only found out about this yesterday (29th April) i feel residents should have been advised sooner. My house overlooks this woodland and i dont really want to overlook more houses.

Full text:

These are the reasons i object to this:
1. Me and my family use the field all the time for bike rides and walks, it is a lovely safe are for the children to use away from the roads. We will really miss having this area.

2. I live on the betts farm estate and worry about the extra traffic on the roads. Also unclear as to where the access road would be.

3. I also worry about school safety having all the extra houses over looking the school field.

4. Both my children attend Hockley Primary and the school and the school uses this field fro trips. It would be a real shame if this affected the school trips.

This site is far too close to Hockley Primary School and would mean the children would no longer be taught in a peaceful woodland surrounding. Traffic in this area-especially at school times- is already a severe risk to child safety and the extra traffic due to 50 extra dwellings is a potential for danger. The local schools are already over subscribed and further dwellings would result in children not being offered their first choice of schools.

* breach to our childrens safety during construction process also once construction complete.
* Estate already far to congested, emergency vehicles and refuse vehicles struggle to get through.
* Council failed to inform local residents of proposed plans leaving very little time for us to raise our objections.

Full text:

My main reason for opposing this development is the impact this will have on Hockley Primary School. It is astonishing that you are prepared to compromise the security and saftey of our children by turning the area into a building site with construction vehicles and workforces having such close access around the school, not to mention the noise and pollution that would accompany a site of this scale and furthermore once construction is complete access to 50 houses leaving the school very vulnerable. The other big concern is the congestion on what is already an extremely busy estate, refuse collectors complain about the struggle to get round therefore the same issue would surely arise with fire engines etc yet you are prepared to increase the problem by building a further 50 homes. This proposed site is beyond ridiculous and should under no circumstances be permitted. I also find it disgraceful that local residents were not informed of these proposals leaving very little time to raise our objections.
