Respondent: Mr Richard Duvall

Representation Summary:

1. No encroachment on green belt.

2. Brays Lane traffic problems

3. Alternative suggestion

Full text:

This is an unacceptable encroachment into green belt and the arbitrary northern limit does not provide a defensible boundary to further encroachment northwards. It is currently valuable as arable land and its use should not be changed. Use for housing would destroy a great deal of the existing mature hedging at its boundary on the north side of Brays Lane.

Brays Lane is already overloaded with heavy lorry traffic and development of this site would dangerously add to this.

The western segment of this area is part of a field that stretches northwards to existing housing. This field has an existing hedge/ tree line which would provide a defensible boundary and could accommodate in the region of 30 houses; this would represent a more acceptable alternative. Access could be acheived via Golden Cross Road avoiding adding additional loading to Brays Lane.
