The new housing in Hockley/Hawkwell/Ashingdon requires the modernisation of at least Spa Road and the railway station in Hockley because this is currently in a shabby and inadequate condition. Option 3.1 of the original Hockley Area Action Plan might need to precede the housing it has to serve. Enhanced public transport facilities, roads, education and health will need to be in place before the housing is occupied.
