We live on Folly Lane which is already congested with traffic. Frequently we are stuck in queues of traffic, trying to get into Hockley village or anywhere else you need to get to. The options CFS064, CFS264, CFS040, would significantly make congestion worse.
The B1013 from Rayleigh to Hockley already struggles to cope with the existing amount of traffic already. The above mentioned options combined with others also feeding B1013 i.e. (CFS161, 160,105,053) would generate an enormous bottleneck. Also the pressure on schools, doctors etc. The increase in more people, more traffic would be horrendous.
Also some of the sites under consideration are Green Belt land. Loss of these green spaces would impact residents well-being and leisure activity. We use the fields and footpaths frequently, and also the horse riders who use the bridleways as there are lots of stables in Hockley. I am very concerned about the air quality. At the moment we have some lovely green spaces. But with all the excess amount of congestion this will cause, peoples health will be at risk.
Also the wildlife, where will it go?
I thought we were supposed to be protecting it.
In summary I do object to the level of development being proposed due to insufficient infrastructure and further loss of our lovely Green Belt land.

NEW LOCAL PLAN PROPOSALS

We live on Folly Lane which is already congested and frequently has queueing traffic. The options CFS064, CFS264, CFS040 would significantly make the congestion worse.
The B1013 from Rayleigh to Hockley already struggles to cope with existing traffic volume; the above mentioned options combined with others also feeding the B1013 i.e, (CFS161, 160, 105,053) would generate an enormous bottleneck. As a former governor at Hockley Primary School I'm aware of the pressure on school capacity locally and doubt there is capability to absorb the potential increases involved.
Some of the sites under consideration are green belt land, loss of which would impact resident well-being and leisure activity.
We frequently use the local footpaths and would object to any loss thereof.
Air quality would obviously be adversely affected also.
In summary I object to the level of development being proposed due to insufficient infrastructure and further loss of Green Belt land.

This site only has the B1013 as its potential feeder road which regularly experiences severe traffic congestion being one of the busiest B roads in the country. The other proposed local plan sites CFS160, CFS161, CFS074, CFS194, CFS169, CFS150, CFS020 are all going to put additional traffic on the B1013, they are proposing if these sites are adopted upto 6,000 homes which means up to 12,000 cars plus. The B1013 could not cope with this additional traffic.

CFS064 is green belt land and is farmed regularly. The site is surrounded by three small ancient woods and is important wildlife habitat, supporting many native species.

There is a public footpath around the site which is well used for recreation by local residents.

I am fully aware of housing shortage but object to all the future planning for the following reasons;
1. Roads are already congested without extra cars and need improvements. The bus service is unreliable.
2. Infrastructure - more housing, more cars with roads already congested.
3. Wildlife - this should be considered, wildlife has as much right to life as us.
4. Public footpaths and bridleways - their loss is irreplaceable!
5. Flooding - Council report does not mention the flooding of Hawkwell Brook, a tidal river, in 1968 and 2013. How will the flood risk be dealt with?
6. Air quality - if traffic increases there will be more pollution. How will that be dealt with?
7. Access to vital services - will this be in walking distance of these services?
8. Education - schools are already full - more schools needed!
9. Infrastructure - infrastructure first!! This has not happened in the past but should be always issued!
10. CFS045 - this was in the past common land. How will this affect road planning?
11. CFS064 - without future building, traffic congestion here already. Another thought for road planning!

This is irreplaceable green belt agricultural land with a well-used perimeter footpath. Hockley primary (near) is already near to everyday air pollution from parents picking up and sometimes leaving idling cars.
The nearby B1013 is one of the busiest if not the busiest B road in England and more cars will impact on this and roads on Betts Farm estate. The beautiful woodlands will be impacted by building work and car fumes. There are already enough houses in this particular area.
