Only sites with existing industrial useage should be considered for residential development.

Get the Infrastructure development on the table first, then consider how the gap in the housing market can be fullfilled, once it has been determined and were monies are coming from. Let's not continue to put the Cart before the Horse.

Local residents might prefer a mixture of sites, which might allow for larger, spacious plots of land, but not if this means larger areas of road building and greater congestion on main roads.

Including land to the west of Thorpe Road (options SH2 and SH4) or land to the South of Rectory Road (options SH3 and SH4) does not offer any obvious benefits and would probably increase disruption to local residents during any development.

Hawkwell is not a location for a housing estate and any development, major or otherwise, should be spread over a mixture of smaller sites to retain the semi rural nature of the area.

No houses should be built in the 4 options, but If Hawkwell is forced to have dwellings then it must be a mixture of brown field sites, as putting them in one location removes what most of us came to Hawkwell for, a semi rural enviroment.

No dwellings should be located anywhere until the infrastructure has been agreed - no more traffic congestion!!! a bypass road solution for the district as a whole needs to be established and the suitable dwellings sited alongside this. Even to considering the railway line between Rayleigh and Rochford and adding additional side tracks to link to the main network rail (sidelines and new stations) - one has been put in for Southend Airport. When will councils learn this key fundamental need to provide infrastructure before residential developments.
