Representation Summary:

As a resident of Hockley for over 30 years and in retirement for about ten years now, I am disturbed at yet another large housing development in the neighbourhood. When I moved to Hockley it was a proper village which over recent years has seen more and more housing developments both in and around to the extent that it no longer remains a separate identifiable entity and has become part of extensive housing redevelopment in every direction. Three years ago I became a widower and got a dog for companionship. With the dog we go for walks twice a day every day. In my immediate neighbourhood there are few places that we can walk avoiding traffic or having to walk in the road. Therefore I am greatly concerned at the potential loss of Field CFS064 which has provided a safe and enjoyable walk for me and my dog, all the way from Folly Chase to the Hockley Community Centre and Betts Wood and back. So I am definitely against the building of 214 houses in Field CFS064 and would wish Rochford District Council not to proceed with yet another diminution of our hitherto pleasant and delightful village, the open aspect of farm land, ancient woods, the opportunities that presently exist for safe and enjoyable recreation.
