Much of the scoring appears contradictory and confusing, including the definition of some terminology used.
Primary school access is currently 5 and yet Barling Magna Primary academy is almost at capacity with one class currently situated within the library (a central disruptive area unsuitable for learning).
Walking infrastructure is scored at 5 whereas currently there is only one narrow pathway on one side of the road and little space to develop another due to road width. Limited pavements exist across Barling and some very dangerous areas with blind corners, dangerous parking due to overcrowding and vehicles traveling at speed are of already great concern.
Whist there is a bus stop on Little Wakering road (scoring 5) bus services are scored at 1 (likely due to frequency and reliability of schedules) Buses also struggle on the village roads already so it would not be feasible to increase schedules or indeed encourage more vehicles onto often single-track roads in the village.
It seems to indicate no impact on habitats and yet nature is prevalent within the village with some rare species recorded.
Cycle routes scored at 3 yet there are no cycle paths, narrow roads and footpaths already resulting in dangerous conditions for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians. Other sites have existing cycle lanes and infrastructure in place.
