Reason 1 - Infrastructure first!!! All the residents are saying this and you refuse to listen. Existing residents of both Rochford & Ashingdon are already suffering horrific traffic flows that far exceed the capacity of our existing road infrastructure, causing excessive traffic and lengthy delays. The entire are is served purely by residential roads and we are seeing daily occurrences where many roads are gridlocked. This impacts on pollution levels and the wellbeing of residents. Ashingdon Road is too busy, and the sheer volume of traffic means that it's hard to get onto it from adjoining roads, many of which would be providing access to the very sites you're considering. Increasing the number of houses within this area would only increase the volumes of traffic within the area when our roads are already broken.
Reason 2 - Wellbeing of residents. This is a semi-rural town and residents rely upon the paths through and around these sites for exercise and escape from the congested roads. Much of this land is greenbelt & farmland that has been successfully growing crops for hundreds of years and building over it will kill the wildlife that thrives in these areas. I moved from Thurrock to Ashingdon last year and my garden is alive with birds. We regularly see foxes, badgers, squirrels, hares & rabbits too. If you build here these animals will flee, and will not return. You can't put them back once they're gone.
