I have been contacted by my neighbours to have a look at this as the school and parking situation is diabolical already, I then noticed this was situated right behind my house, I walk with my dog and young children, I have absolutely loved living in Stambridge with the village feel but now this will be lost as my children grow up I hated rochford and what it had become and now our tiny but lovely village is looking to go the same way, I fear fo the roads and how much it already costs me to keep repairing my car due to the road being terrible, with great big lorries etc going through, how many more cars are going to be here and that again brings me back to my children and playing out the front.

No More Housing
What is missing is these areas are supposed to be villages , we cannot move from one end of Ashingdon road to the other end without it taking an hour at times due to shear volume of traffic, there are plenty of counties that have more space to build new towns and have better infrastructures, the pollution in this area is high due to the slow moving volume of traffic , people moved here to live in the countryside and now we are just joining up with Southend and Rayleigh to Basildon, we do not need anymore housing or people in this area, 400 phone calls just to get through to the gp says it all.

We do not agree with the plan for this beautiful green area. If the plans do go ahead it will look just like the east end of London which we moved to get away from. Does any of the planners live in this area?? We would like to know their views if they do. The infastructure around this area will not support the amount of people and traffic tat you are proposing. We have no available schools, doctors, dentist and shops. You complain about air pollution now, if the plan do go ahead, there is be much more air polluion.

Where I live the roads are not conducive for any more traffic. They are just wide enough for 2 cars abreast. If a vehicle is making a delivery, collecting dustbins, a removal van the tail backs can be very long. To put more housing with at least 2 cars per household and using the only available roads we have will be a nightmare with no one being able to leave nor enter the area.

Having lived in Rochford since 1967 in which time thousands of houses have been built together many new businesses. Including a big increase of 44ton trucks coming from Walesa Island. Since 1967 the only road improvements to Rochford have been a few hundred yards of by pass at Bradley Way and the flattening of the hump back bridge by the fire station. The current road system is just no capable handling any more traffic it's grid locked now.

Having reviewed the supporting documents, The building of in excess of 5,000 house in the area is excessive and contrary to the vision statement presented stating the area "should remain the gateway to our rural countryside". Furthermore the housing presents additional congestion to the roadways which are already not fit for purpose and no plan is presented to review this or new roadways included not additional schooling available, nor new health services.Being part of an age group this should benefit I believe this is detrimental to the future of the town and is presented out of personal greed.

Lived in Ashingdon for 35 years. This is a typical very broad outline, and appears on the outside as a complex plan, with
a very expansive number of issues. Limited shops, more cars parked on roads, crumbling main road surfaces, decrease in jobs, at times noisy air traffic. Expensive parking, bus fares. Difficulty obtaining good health care. Too much housing without consideration of infrastructure. No planning for good older peoples properties. This is our experience over 35 years of living hear. We cannot think of any improvements to this area. We would like to be positive please.

The roads in the area are already over crowded. Southend Hospital cannot cope with the numbers now let alone 100s more patients. Doctors surgeries and schools are at full capacity. Police are rarely seen in the area so crime would also increase.

- No existing infrastructure to support further housing (both roads and well as schools, doctors, hospitals, shops, etc).
- Wellbeing of existing residents who rely on these spaces for recreation & exercise.
- Pollution levels from additional traffic would impact on the health of residents.
- This is a semi-rural location and many of the sites on greenbelt and farmland which should be protected at all costs.
- Wildlife rely on land to survive. This land must not be built on and instead protected.
Reason 1 - Infrastructure first!!! All the residents are saying this and you refuse to listen. Existing residents of both Rochford & Ashingdon are already suffering horrific traffic flows that far exceed the capacity of our existing road infrastructure, causing excessive traffic and lengthy delays. The entire are is served purely by residential roads and we are seeing daily occurrences where many roads are gridlocked. This impacts on pollution levels and the wellbeing of residents. Ashingdon Road is too busy, and the sheer volume of traffic means that it's hard to get onto it from adjoining roads, many of which would be providing access to the very sites you're considering. Increasing the number of houses within this area would only increase the volumes of traffic within the area when our roads are already broken.
Reason 2 - Wellbeing of residents. This is a semi-rural town and residents rely upon the paths through and around these sites for exercise and escape from the congested roads. Much of this land is greenbelt & farmland that has been successfully growing crops for hundreds of years and building over it will kill the wildlife that thrives in these areas. I moved from Thurrock to Ashingdon last year and my garden is alive with birds. We regularly see foxes, badgers, squirrels, hares & rabbits too. If you build here these animals will flee, and will not return. You can't put them back once they're gone.

CFS216, this site directly impacts the school which is semi rural. This will completely change the school and make the traffic a major issue. The children will have no green space left!

In essence I support the development of the land east of Oxford Road however I have recently found that the owners of Doggetts Farm want to build an eco-village on this land which would not only be in keeping with the drive for sustainability and carbon neutrality, but would provide an ideallic estate to live in and provide many community facilities for the existing town inhabitants (cycle paths, forest planting, water activities, special education needs). Moreover, such a project would benefit the Rochford area on many levels and could serve a national blueprint for town expansion and development.
