Allocations DPD Discussion and Consultation Document

Representation ID: 20608

Received: 30/04/2010

Respondent: D Buckingham

Representation Summary:

This afternoon I received notice through my letter box indication that you are considering building 50 houses on farm land at the rear of HOCKLEY Primary School.

Furthermore I had until 5pm today to place my objection online. Firstly I do not own a computer, and secondly when did you decide you were thinking about this development - its the first time I have heard about it so much for consultation! The nearness to the school, community centre, public walk ways to the church are just 3 reasons alone for a rejection of this development. There are more.

The present Govermnent have decided they want to join this area to East London through their so called 'Thames Gateway' scheme. Hockley, Rochford, Rayleigh, and the surrounding villages are now more or less joined to Southend. Leave us here some pleasurable walks, open countryside and no more concrete we have enough. So Rochford Council think again about this and if ou decide on bull-dozing the trees in Hockley Woods down to the ground for more houses. Kindly give us plenty of warning - we would like to have a say in the matter.

Trust you are considering the many 'brownfield' sites.
