Allocations DPD Discussion and Consultation Document

Respondent: Mr Paul Sealey

Representation Summary:

Ooptions WH1, WH3 and WH4 should be rejected because of access problems and the risk of development 'creep' into adjacent land. If WH2 can meet the need for 50 dwellings then WH5 is unnecessarily encroaching on green belt land. However, the issue of access in WH2 must be resolved.

Full text:

Options WH1, WH3 and WH4 would create significant access problems. Moreover I do not believe any of them would offer a defensible green belt boundary and there would be pressure to extend into adjacent land, further exacerbating access problems. None of these 3 options should be taken forward. Whilst WH2 does not encroach onto green belt, access to the site is severely limited and would need to be addressed before any development is permitted. However, if it can accommodate the proposed number of dwellings why does WH5 apparently increase the development land? Perhaps a revised version of WH5 with smaller link to Church Road would suffice
