London Southend Airport & Environs Joint Area Action Plan Issues & Options Paper

Representation ID: 1501

Received: 28/07/2008

Respondent: Mr Gary Congram

Representation Summary:

There are no scenarios in which I would support delvelopment of the airport. In this current economic climate with fuel prices not likely to drop in the immediate future and with airlines stopping flights instead of increasing and the government backing the development of the 4th terminal at Heathrow it appears to me that investing in this scheme is throwing money at a business that is going to be in decline. We should be looking at scenarios of using the land like the Heath buildings etc., that are available and attract new business's that are greener.
