I'm not sure that modern demands will require more facilities, more people will move to video interviews at the Drs and online delivery of prescriptions. Modern designs and smoke detectors probably lesson the need for fire stations and interactions with the police occur more online than ever.

Allotment areas provide an important area for those in the 40-70 age range to socialise and a healthy and natural pursuit.

Any buisness that pays rates and employees is up against stiff online competition and the likelihood is that unless town centre populations increase significantly then reconsideration of the purposing of shopping areas will need to be made because delivery is likely to beat town centre shopping in the foreseeable future. As older communities become more online savvy this change will likely accelerate.

Q55. Are there any other ways that you feel the plan should be planning for the needs of rural communities?

Rural communities are supported by very minimal infrastructure and are scaled currently to the appropriate levels in order live within this infrastructure. There are significant challenges to rural road maintenance already. We should have consideration of the future generational needs for farming land and self sufficiency ahead of short term developmental aims.

As a resident I am happy with the scale of the settlement and chose to live here for the rural tranquillity at the expense of having facilities at hand. I regularly walk in to Rochford. I value the small size of the population and the different types of people that live here. The walking routes and countryside around us provide great joy and I'm happy to share this with visitors. I love the biodiversity around us and am proud to live near and witness local farming. The pub and allotments are a great place to meet people and make friends.

Q62b. With reference to Figure 50 and your preferred Strategy Option, do you think any of the land edged blue should be made available for any of the following uses? How could that improve the completeness of Great Stambridge?

Sorry I dont agree that the community is set up to support more people. We'd lose valuable biodiversity, important farming land and the character of the village that the residents treasure. I fear the road and water runoff capacity could not meet extra demand and that unless there was significant growth we couldn't justify new facilities like a bigger school or healthcare. The village is happy to share the environment with other district residents but has little to offer any new residents especially younger families or youths and young people.

None on the current infrastructure. The farming land is precious. Support should be given to residents altering domestic properties to develop small cottage businesses at home.

There is importance to all the proposed development sites. The farming landscape should be protected. The meadows behind the allotment provide great walking and important views for the elderly residents in Stambridge Meadows.

I have a local bias because I regularly walk, cycle and drive the area and feel the benefit of the public spaces and the farming spaces. The Rankins Cricket Club could make itself more accessible to the local community though it is a pretty site and has value.
