Each town has it's own unique characteristics & requirements. For example, Rochford and it's residents is a countryside town where the people make use of the green space and countryside whereas Rayleigh wants to become an urban hub. House building will mean Rochford will lose it uniqueness and all towns will be blurred into one.

Each town should have its own vision. And that vision should revolve around keeping the town as it is and making gradual, small improvements. Each town being expected to provided tens-of-thousands of new homes is unrealistic and dangerous.

The amount of houses being built especially on green belt land, I understand the need for housing but not at the expense of the present residents.
Our roads can’t cope and we regularly sit in traffic jams and experience long waits for doctors appointments etc. our town is an old town with old infrastructure so please no more building.

There must be an interlocking theme across all districts that emphasises common training/skills acquisition that thus supports a strategic focus for business sector excellence, attracting businesses with common/transferable skills requirements ultimately aiming for a 'regional hub' similar in concept to those found around Oxford/Cambridge and certain parts of USA.

Rochford District has a number of separate and distinct villages and it is important to maintain local community identity and the rural nature of the district as a whole. Given the demographics showing an aging population the strategy must provide for localised social housing (preferably Council Housing) in order to retain younger families who are priced out of the private housing market, this would provide over time a more balanced demographic.

As stated in the previous question, I think a new town should be created instead. But which ever options are proposed, I believe that putting infrastructure in any proposed sites is a must before allowing any future developments to take place. We have many issues in this area, many which have been caused by overcrowding and a lack of adequate services and facilities. Increasing our housing without tackling these issues first is unacceptable.

I believe that building anything without first updating infrastructure is a non starter. We need better roads, a bigger doctor surgery, better facilities, a fire station, police service and much more. When they have upgraded the infrastructure first then I wouldn't have as many issues with the housing. Curious why they are choosing a location with no direct train line or any big business is beyond me. I think this is being seriously overlooked.

I support the objectives 9 to 13. It would be nice if our present roads were maintained. Money for road repairs we are told is unavailable but plentiful for money making speed cameras. A major trunk road will encourage more development. New housing should be sensibly priced to discourage the need of travel to London. Renewable energy integrated into new properties. We are surrounded by tidal rivers, can this be utilized for power generation? Keep work as much as possible in the area to prevent the pollution around the western towns and villages of the district.

The Council as a whole should have a vision for the entire District that all settlements found within to aspire to and feel like they are helping move toward.

Settlements that work together in harmony to achieve common goals are much better equipped to reach their shared vision. Recognising that social, economic, and environmental factors will differently shape each settlement's offering and challenges is sensible. In turn, the ability to clearly communicate the part each of these settlements plays is a positive tool.
