Hockley Area Action Plan - Issues and Options

Representation ID: 9419

Received: 29/04/2009

Respondent: mr Bernard Clark

Representation Summary:

Hockley is not a town but a village between Rayleigh & Rochford.Historically it hasn't the layout of either Rayleigh or Rochford and has inadequate off-street parking. The proposals treat Hockley as a "greenfield" site with all the logistical problems which this entails particularly with the over crowding of the roads through Hockley for longer periods each day.Hockley needs to be treated as a "village" for planning purposes and should take place in a piece-meal manner within an overall plan. The consultation which has taken place so far is inadequate and needs to be extended.
