London Southend Airport & Environs Joint Area Action Plan Issues & Options Paper

Representation ID: 936

Received: 26/06/2008

Respondent: Mr D Dobbin

Representation Summary:

Banning cars from the roads!

No matter how much the highway management organisations try to shift people from car use, there is still an innate desire for those who own cars to use these vehicles to get from A to B. A multi-stage journey (A -> B -> C -> D -> . . .) is not possible at a reasonable cost by public transport, especially when having to carry shopping/goods, etc, and the time taken by public transport to get around in waiting for transport to arrive and serve other passengers makes journey times excessive.
