London Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action Plan Preferred Options
Representation ID: 5983
Received: 29/03/2009
Respondent: Mr Derek Waddy-Smith
The roads to and from Southend are filled to capacity as they are. The majority of passengers will always prefer to drive to an airport. Road congestion - also added to by increased freight transportation - is another significant, negative repercussion for the area for very little benefit in return. All accompanied by an increase in pollution levels.
