The airport has the potential to be a very valuable asset for southend. You only need to look at the consequences for Graet Yarmouth in Norfolk when the council to do invest in an opportunity untill too late (outer harbour). Norfolk line left so did the roll on roll off ferries and all that was left was a run down port area with a few small shipping movements a day and few jobs, sound familiar. Dont let Southend turn into yet another deprived sea side town.
