I should state that the Officers of St Laurence Church do not object in principle to the current proposals. These could bring substantial economic benefits to the locality, including considerable job creation.
Our major concern is continued protection of the building and Churchyard in its current position and access to it, which should remain unhindered for both transport and pedestrians from an easterly and westerly direction. Assurances have been given from the Airport about the former, but the issue of access remains unresolved. Another concern is local footpaths, particularly between Eastwoodbury Lane and North Crescent, would cause considerable inconvenience if re-routed.
