London Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action Plan Preferred Options

Representation ID: 4930

Received: 07/03/2009

Respondent: Mr Martin Birch

Representation Summary:

Most airline passengers with luggage travel to and from airports by road, increasing air pollution and congestion. The proposed rail 'halt' is helpful but how is this going to work? The Liverpool Street line is already overcrowded, or will there be dedicated trains for air passengers? If not - seriously - where are the airline passengers going to put their luggage? And will commuters be standing both ways to make room for them?
