London Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action Plan Preferred Options

Representation ID: 4711

Received: 25/02/2009

Respondent: Mrs Charlotte Williams

Representation Summary:

Rather than ojecting to every single aspect of the preferred plan, in summary the expansion of Southend Airport, whilst creating employment, seems totally unnecessary. Increased aircraft noise is the primary concern, but the situation of Southend in the eastern part of this country will create a bottle neck with regards to the extra traffic. Why do we need another airport in this region when we already have Luton, Gatwick, Stanstead and Heathrow that provide all the levels of services we need with regards to air travel?!?
