New Local Plan: Spatial Options Document 2021

Respondent: Mr James Wiseman

Representation Summary:

Proposed developments around Ashingdon primary academy
I find both proposals for developing land around and or opposite Ashingdon PrimaryAcademy,Ashingdon Rd,totally inappropriate.

The road is already overloaded with frequent long queues at school times.

Is an increased risk to school children's health because of road traffic and increased pollution due to an increase in slower/stationary traffic and increased traffic.

The area opposite is obviously green belt and floods even in summer after heavy rain, this will now cause the water to flood onto the roads without extensive drainage work.

I feel the increase to traffic, pollution and the loss of green belt is an unacceptably high cost for these houses.
The urban sprawl will connect Hockley to Ashingdon leaving to an inevitable infill on greenbelt land, then no doubt loss of woodland a loss of trees and an increase in co2.
