New developments should be required to create green corridors for wildlife to maintain or improve connectivity in expanding urban landscapes, in line with Strategic Objective 9, and the NPPF requirement to secure a measurable net gain in biodiversity. Without such corridors, new or existing green open spaces would be isolated, reducing their value for wildlife and people.
