This suggestion is a bit out there, but after the first world war other town hub locations wee developed to deal with increased housing demands. I am referring to towns such as Basildon, Vange and Pitsea.
Why can the government not do this again in areas that are not already urbanised? Wakering is a small village location and would not be the best choice for any kind of development (we already have a large development plot being built upon down Barrow Hall road, with no further infrastructure being put in place).
