New Local Plan: Spatial Options Document 2021

Representation ID: 38742

Received: 12/09/2021

Respondent: Mr Philip Jones

Representation Summary:

Transport and Connectivity: Needs to be greater emphasis on ways to reduce vehicle usage in the district. Inevitable housing growth will put more vehicles on our already busy roads creating extra pollution and greater risk to pedestrians and cyclists. Is there a plan to have an coherent network of safe pedestrian/cyclist routes across the district to remove some of the barriers that stop people walking or cycling (e.g. breathing polluted air, risk of physical harm and abuse from drivers)? Is there a plan to encourage people to use public transport rather than use own vehicle?
