Rayleigh has been lovely place to live. But over the last few years housing development has meant that the town centre is almost permanently blocked with traffic. Development plans give no priority to quality of life to those already living in Rayleigh. Air quality is already below required standards and current plans will make it worse, increased traffic makes life miserable, making it difficult to get about safely, creating 'rat runs' that are dangerous. No increased infrastructure is required from developers, who seem to be able to do as they wish. The current situation is a disgrace to local democracy, taking no account of residents/council tax payers wishes.
