Representation Summary:

This village and its picturesque natural surrounding are documented as far back as the iron age and on through Saxon conquest down through the ages with the battle of Assundun (Ashingdon) being fought in the meadowlands of these Roach tributaries. It has some of the most fertile agricultural lands in Essex due to the Roach's flood plain deposits over the centuries but prior to that was forest land hunted by Henry VIII all of which make Stambridge of huge historical significance to the area. The historical connections & the abundance of protected species make this area hugely significant
