Basildon Borough Council object to the wording in the Paragraph 5.27 of the published Allocations Submission document and Policy NEL2 & Concept Statement that suggests access to the proposed NEL2 could be possible from the field to the west of the site. Notwithstanding the fact that this access would cross over land in the Basildon Borough and therefore is outside of Rochford's control to implement, this would result in access to the site being directly onto the A127, in the vicinity of a strategic junction, which would compromise the safety of the site's occupants, as well as other road users.
