So few of the older buildings in the High Street have survived that it is important to try to keep what we have left. I would therefore ask the Council to reconsider putting this building on the Local List. Older buildings have strong memories for people. When I was a boy there was a toy shop here, which made it one of the most important shops in the High Street for me.
It does help to define the corner of Crown Hill / High Street.
The alterations are not so great as to really detract from the building.
