This option might create the greatest capacity for more airline services to more destinations. The airport claims to be "London" Southend airport and should therefore be as busy as Gatwick and should relieve Heathrow and Stansted. In addition to extending one runway could you not create a second runway running diagonally away from the railway and the existing runway across the surrounding fields. This increased capacity might enable major airlines to operate out of this airport.
