Generally I agree with the direction and focus of this. There is a lack of quality restaurants and pubs in Rayleigh. Wetherspoons has simply caused an increase in public nuisence, drunkeness and violence. Providing a licensed venue for cheap alcohol served mainly to alcoholics and under 25s does nothing to assist the area. Crown pub exterior poor and ruins the look of the street. Assisting the older pubs to become more like village style pubs with quality food offer, would certainly change the feel of the town in the evenings.
