London Southend Airport & Environs Joint Area Action Plan Issues & Options Paper

Representation ID: 1232

Received: 18/07/2008

Respondent: Tony Stevens

Representation Summary:

I object to all expansion of the airport. At present the volume of aircraft and subsequent noise levels are tolerable. I fear that any increase would result in a detrimental effect on the area negating the positive nature of economic growth. Rochford would become a less desirable area to live in. Additionally as a general principle, I find it difficult to understand how a council can invest heavily in a new recycling scheme with the specific intention of reducing environmental impact whilst supporting a major increase in aircraft activity being one of the biggest polluters in the transport industry??
