Received: 13/05/2009

Respondent: Mr Gareth Evans

Representation Summary:

I consider this consultation to be lacking vital information and therefore completely incapable of supporting any decisions about the development of the airport.

I suggest that you review your position and consult again providing detailed information about the issues that matter to poeple.

Full text:

I have read the "Preferred Options" report and was quite astonished by the lack of information provided about the proposed development of the airport.

None of the issues that actually concern people are explored. I offer just a few examples:

1. There is no information about the actual number of flights that 2 million passengers per year equates to.

2. There is complete mystery about the night time cargo flights.

3. There is no quantification of the increased vehicle movements in the area and the extra congestion of the A127.

4. It is implied that quieter aircraft will be in use but with no real detail.

In summary, there is no way that local people can gauge just how much impact this development will have on them.

I would not consider this consultation to be anywhere near sufficient and therefore any decisions that might be taken as a result of it would be invalid and would not stand challenge.

I suggest that you review your position and consult again providing detailed information about the issues that matter to poeple.
