Despite finding this web site particularly difficult to navigate, we are determined to voice our objections very stongly to the expansion of Southend Airport on many grounds, as listed below: -

1) NOISE POLLUTION - it is inevitable that this will increase greatly due to larger planes and their increased frequency.

2) INCREASE IN TRAFFIC on a road network already at its limits, with access from only one direction (the west A13 / A127).

3) DEVALUATION OF HOUSE VALUES under and around the flight path, with from what I can see no compensation to those who are immediately affected.

4) LARGE INCREASES IN POLLUTION - environmentally there will be a negative impact on the surrounding area, with a vastly increased carbon footprint.

5) LOSS OF YET MORE GREEN AREAS - although the plans state that there will be new public green areas created around the development, in reality most of the planned green areas are already green but will be renamed to sound like a new area has been created.

6) FLIGHT TIMES - with the flight path directly over a densly populated area flight not being restricted untill 11pm is outrageous and should be restricted to a much earlier time.


ALTHOUGH I DO UNDERSTAND THAT THERE MAY BE A FEW BENEFITS FOR THE SURROUNDING AREA, THE NEGATIVES FAR OUT WAY ANY POSITIVES.
