B. Do not have a specific policy on the strategic highway network

Whilst in general I support this policy, I would like to see more cycling infrastructure supported. The main barrier to more cycling is the perceived risk of mixing with motor traffic, especially on over 30mph limit roads. I would like to see a cycle track at least 2m wide on the Rawreth Lane which is one a very few routes for cyclists to connect to outside the area. I would like to see more attention to junctions with a view to making cycling safer. The sustrans guide to safe cycling is 'would you allow your 12 year old son or daughter to ride this route unattended' sadly few roads in the Rochford DC meet this criteria.
