Representation Summary:

The closure of Eastwoodbury Lane,Eastbound, will deprive commuters of an alternative to the heavily overused A127, resulting in yet more traffic using this road.

This combined with the additional traffic generated by the extended airport will cause mayhem.

what is the point of building another railway station within one mile of an existing one? At Gatwick and Stansted both stations are situated further than one mile from the departure points to the aircraft. Why should Southend be different bearing in mind the lower use it will be put to? What is wrong with a shuttle bus system?

Resubmit every 5 years.Thats really bad news for the operators. What is really bad news for the residents is that the preferred option selected by the majority of respondents to the first 'consultation' was totally ignored by both Councils because it was not the 'high growth' scenario they wanted. So they announced it as high growth anyway. Check the analysis done by Rochford Planning on the Rochford website. Disgraceful.

The A127/A13 are totally inadequate for today's traffic. If you've tried to return to Southend on a Bank Holiday you will know. Additional roads in close proximity to the airport without vast improvement of these roads is luducrous. Huge traffic increases will have a detrimental affect on the mainly residential & heavily populated area. Heavily loaded commercial vehicles will cause damage to local roads. Green Belt will be sacrificed to profit. Local environment will be vastly altered. Airport requirements will always take priority to local residents' requirements. Diversions made to suit the airport, not residents.

STRONGLY OBJECT TO ALL EXPANSION. Do minimum or preferably no expansion. The increase in aircraft noise for us residents will become intolerable, emissions will increase. The road system cannot cope with current traffic levels. If 2m passenger movements are reached this will require about 4000 extra car journeys per day!!! Imagine the road upgrading work for the next few years that would be required. This area has a high percentage of elderly people who hardly fly. Who will the expansion benefit, people flying from outside the region and the business people and major shareholders who will make millions of pounds.

I dont believe the sweetner on job creation given the current climate so dont be fooled by this one. I can't see many companies wanting to invest in this proposal.

I moved into this area 14 years ago because it is a nice peaceful place to life. It remains one of the few areas in the SE where you can still enjoy a decent quality of life. How can anybody justify polluting aircraft, noise and carbon emissions, flying over a densely populated area? As for transport links its no good just improving local infrastructure, how will the A13/A127 cope with greatly increased traffic and large container lorries. This is madness.

I feel let down already that work of some kind is in progress in the Southend Road location. It appears that a decision has been made by Rochford and Southend Councils already.

I strongly object to the expansion of Southend Airport and the changes that are associated with it. This list is a few of the reasons.
Increased pollution. Increased traffic on roads already congested. Increased noise 24 hours no guarantee to limits. Reduction in house values as can already be seen just with the expansion proposals. Increase in freight flights these planes won't be quieter than newer style passenger planes.
