The area of 0.94 hectares to the rear of Spring Gardens in Rayleigh, is rich in wildlife and flora and fauna and forms a heathland landscape virtually adjacent to Rayleigh town centre. This unique area should be preserved as a local wildlife site.
I am sure a habitat survey will reveal the prescence of Foxes, Badgers and smaller mammals on this undisturbed oasis between town and intensively farmed land beyond.

The area between Great Wheatley road and Spring gardens provides a green break that is enjoyed by numerous residents and is home to a great many species. It is another 'lung' that if used for housing would lead to Rayleigh loosing its identity and becoming just another housing estate.

I would like to see the Shoebury New Ranges (the part that borders onto Wakering) left alone after the MOD have finished. I walk along the coastal path from Wakering Stairs and can see a fair way into the New Ranges, it should be left as scrub land to encourage nature to grow wild as it intended.

We can personally attest to prescence of PROTECTED Badgers (sighted ) and foxes and smaller mammals, birds and other fauna as well as countless trees and plants- an increasingly threatened resource for the area
This environmental oasis between town and intensively farmed land beyond should remain undisturbed.
