There needs to be more consultation, with those consulted being in full knowledge of the proposals. It is disgraceful that Rochford Council intend to build more than 200 houses right in the heart of our village, designating us a town, moving the village centre in favour of a big supermarket. Supermarkets are not community places. Hockley residents should be given a full report of what is proposed and allowed to express their views. Informing people by word of mouth leads to misinformation and bad decisions.
