There is already good retail provision. Some change might be acceptable but it must never drive out the existing useful small, single and independent units which offer cheap and convenient shoe repairs, key cutting, dry cleaning, washing, ironing, tool sharpening, hairdressing etc. These small local services are invaluable for busy people and should never be replaced by national chains.
