As a resident of Hockley, I am strongly opposed to the proposed regeneration of Hockley 'Town'. Hockley is still regarded as a Village by it's residents and that is how we would like it to stay. We do not wish to become a Southend or Basildon. Where is the infrastructure to support the proposed development - i.e. schools, medical care etc. Our roads will not support the additional usage, and the proposed one-way system will cause chaos to residents and could potentially present extremely dangerous situations for the pupils in the surrounding area around The Westerings Primary School.
