London Southend Airport and Environs Joint Area Action Plan Preferred Options

Representation ID: 4929

Received: 07/03/2009

Respondent: Mr Martin Birch

Representation Summary:

I object to the fact that airport expansion is being considered in the absence of an adequate road infrastructure leading to and from the airport. The area is already overcrowded and the roads are congested from every direction. There is very little scope for new or improved roads without demolishing a lot of buildings or desecrating green areas. The A127 is at breaking point. I believe that Southend airport is in the wrong location for anything other than low growth.
