New Local Plan: Spatial Options Document 2021

Representation ID: 44209

Received: 14/09/2021

Respondent: Mrs Margaret Christian

Representation Summary:

I object to this field site (CFS064) being used for housing for the following reasons:
1. The field is on green belt and is farmed regularly.
2.The field has three small ancient woods on its perimeter. All three woods are vulnerable and irreplaceable, each supporting a range of wildlife. A development in the field would severely negatively impact the woods, the wildlife and the environment generally, increasing pollution in all forms - soil, noise, light, air, water.
3. The Jubilee Walk forms a major footpath around the field and through the small wood, included in the site - this connects to many main areas for walking. Thus the field is vital to the local community for recreation.

4. Developing the site would lead to an increase in traffic putting a severe strain on the B1013 as well as Betts Farm Estate should any access be via Westminster Drive.
5. The doctors surgeries, dentists and small school adjacent to the site (Hockley Primary) are all full to capacity.
