New Local Plan: Spatial Options Document 2021

Representation ID: 41648

Received: 20/09/2021

Respondent: Mr Tony Hendrick

Representation Summary:

I originally sent my thoughts on the above back in March 2018 when consultation was just beginning. I sent it to your ‘issues and options’ email address and trust it was duly noted and filed. That email listed quite a few of my concerns in regards to the plan and 3 years on nothing has changed for those concerns to be allayed.
Firstly, we still have no idea how the infrastructure is going to be improved - the local roads are now far busier than 3 years ago and they are all in terrible condition. It is completely obvious to all that this is a real problem now, let alone when any new developments begin.
My main concern, however, remains the loss of greenbelt land. The loss of farm land is regrettable in so many ways, but any loss is woodland must be avoided at all costs. All woodland, no matter what size or who owns it, is in my opinion and many others, sacrosanct. Trees are fundamentally important to our environment and our wellbeing. They are a haven to our wildlife which has lost too much of its natural habitat already, hence, I must reiterate that l totally oppose any development of woodland.
This is something I would oppose not only locally but nationwide and surely it is not beyond the wit and will of local councils to avoid this.
I thank you for your attention
