New Local Plan: Spatial Options Document 2021

Representation ID: 39379

Received: 21/09/2021

Respondent: Mr Peter Johnson

Representation Summary:

I reject the assumption built into the above discussion of options that the Airport's insatiable "growth ambitions" should be the primary consideration. The Airport's expanded level of operations before the pandemic were already creating increased noise and pollution to the detriment of the local population. The Local Plans of Rochford District (and Southend-on-Sea) should prioritise job creation that does not depend on further increasing passenger numbers - such jobs come at too high a cost in terms of the environment and the quality of life of local people.
