The airport has lost two of its major airlines this past year (Ryan air and easy jet) meaning there are now not many flight options leaving Southend, forcing locals to return to other airports. The need for growth is only needed if there is a growth in numbers using the airport, getting more destinations and airlines flying out will support this.
